Biography

Owner and Designer, Leslie Yang, is a California native with a love for bright colors and bold accessories to wear and to share. She moved to the Bay Area for college, fell in love with the pace of life and its natural beauty and decided to call it home.

Leslie, a graphic designer by training, started feistyelle in the fall of 2005 to offer jewelry and accessories that are clean in form, vivid in color, and as fun to wear as they are versatile. Our company is committed to using sustainable materials such as merino wool felt, textiles, and bamboo ply, as well as local production. See "How is feistyelle eco chic?" 

Our company is the first to offer earrings made from laser-cut wool felt and one of the first to produce jewelry out of this gorgeous, natural material. The lightness and soft nature of the felt have made them runaway hits in boutiques.

All jewelry and accessories are designed and assembled in San Francisco, California.

Feisty L was supposed to be my DJ name. :) I was going to be a breakbeats and hip hop DJ but alas, I loved making accessories more than scratching out beats. Besides, I'm feisty and "elle" includes all ladies, thus: feistyelle.

An Ode to My Mom

My mom wouldn't let me pierce my earrings till I was sixteen, claiming I'd be too into buying earrings. My mom was totally right! I love jewelry! I love how it can completely change, even reinvent, an outfit. I especially love EARRINGS; I won't leave the house till I've put on the right pair of earrings.

Mom didn't predict that one day I'd be designing jewelry out of sustainable materials but she knows me best. And what do you know, she now rocks my earrings and other accessories. Like mother, like daughter.
